
COMPETITION RULES
The following rules will govern this competition.
General Rules
-
The standard competition comprises of 20 minutes workout period on each machine with a 2 minute rest / transition time between each.

Score is the total meters generated for all machines.

Heat set off in 22 minute intervals.

Meters earned on each machine will be combined to produce final total distance for each participant.

A "reserve" lane of equipment will be used if machines malfunction during a workout period. This equipment may not be used for warming up.

If during the event, a participant chooses not to continue, the participant will be disqualified and removed from the official event results.

All participants will exhibit good sportsmanship before, during and after their individual event. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Clothing, Accessory & Nutrition Rules
-
Gloves can be worn on all machines.
-
Cycling / Padded type shorts can be worn
-
Liquid Chalk can be used on hands if necessary.

Heart Rate Monitors can be worn.
-
Earphones/Earbuds can be worn
-
Nutrition can be consumed (i.e. gels, bars).
-
Water Bottles can also be utilized throughout the competition.
-
Sweat Towels can be used throughout the event
-
A small bag of supplies can be placed next to equipment and transferred from station to station.
STATIONS
-
Participants must be self sufficient during their workout and transition periods. No outside assistance from spectators or coaches.

Spectators are NOT permitted inside the competition area. This area is defined with white lines or barricade.

Spectators are NOT permitted to interfere on any machine whilst the event is underway, i.e. no damper changes, monitor screen display changes, hand participant a water bottle.

The damper setting on each machine can be adjusted prior to start of each phase and also during the workout period.

The damper can be adjusted by only the participant themself and not by bystanders / spectators.

On completion of each machine station, participants should firstly wipe down their equipment and area and then move forward to the next station. DO NOT reset or clear the machine monitors as Event Staff will need to take note of the METER information and reset for the next participant.
SKI ERG STATION RULES

Participants will generate as many meters as possible on Concept 2 Ski Erg Machine.

The ski handles are not to be held until the Timer has commenced.
-
Once finished or if resting, please ensure you place the ski handles back into position at the top of the machine.
-
Do not release the handles from any other position as this can damage the machine.
-
The damper can be adjusted as required if needed.
ECHO BIKE STATION RULES
-
Participants will generate as many meters as possible on Echo Bike machine.
-
The start position is sat on the bike with feet resting on the central support bar of the Erg and not on the pedals.
-
There is no requirement for the participant to remain seated whilst on the Echo Bike.
-
Cycling footwear with cleats/clips cannot be used during this station.
ROW ERG STATION RULES
-
Participants will generate as many meters as possible on the Concept 2 Row Erg Machine.
-
The start position is sat on the rower with feet strapped in but with the handle of the rower in its storage position and not being held.
-
The damper can be adjusted as required if needed.
-
Rowing Machine seat pads can be used but are not supplied by the event.
Officials, Score Keeper and Event Staff
-
One head official is assigned to the event as a whole. The head official will govern the entire competition and have final say over competition rules and violations.

The Score keeper will record participant machine distances and compile over all distances for each competitor.

Event staff will monitor machine lanes and record participant distances on each machine. Event staff will report participant distances to the score keeper after each machine segment.
