• There are NO refunds.

• Registration transfers to non-registered people are NOT permitted.

• Registrations are not transferable to other RIVAL events. 

• Participants may elect to defer their entry to the following year's race (see below).

• Race organizers reserve the right to delay or cancel a race due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. In the case of this, no refunds will be permitted. ​

 

Defer Rules

• Deferrals do not carry over beyond the following year’s event.

• Defer entries must be used for the same event and can not be used for any other event the following year.

• Deferred entries cannot be transferred to non-registered people.

• Should you choose not to use your defer entry the following year, it will not be refunded.

• If the race does not take place the following year, you will receive a refund for the defer fee. 

• A one-time defer fee of $10 applies to individual and relay registrations.  

• Defers may be processed up until 11:59 PM the night before the race. 

 

Why is there a fee to defer my entry to next year's race? Registration money is spent on items associated with the current year’s event such as shirts, finisher medals, location & staff fees and more. Often this money is spent months before event day. The defer fee covers these expenses for your next year's entry.

When the following year event registration opens, deferral athletes will receive a unique entry code (by email) that can be used to register for the event.
